2022 Ford E-Transit
Hard-working, efficient, and versatile, the Ford E-Transit all-electric van stands out from other work vans. The E-Transit is highly customizable with available packages and optional upfit choices, so you can build the perfect work van for your business needs.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The Ford E-Transit comes in three styles: Cutaway, Chassis Cab, and Cargo Van. The Cargo Van comes in three roof heights and three body lengths. Roof heights include the high-roof, medium-roof, and low-roof versions. The low roof allows for easy parking in covered garages. The van comes in regular, long, and extended body lengths, depending on your cargo needs.
Both the Cutaway and Chassis Cab E-Transits come with frame-rail extension adapters. The Cargo Van comes standard with a 50/50 hinged rear door with a 180-degree opening and a sliding passenger-side door. For your convenience when loading gear into the Cargo Van, you can opt for the available 50/50 hinged rear door that has a 253-degree opening. The low-roof van has the option for a 60/40 hinged passenger-side door.
Engine (Power)
The all-electric E-Transit has a 68 kWh lithium-ion battery located under the floor that powers an electric motor. The combination delivers 266 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. A single-speed transmission completes the electric powertrain. A 120-volt/240-volt mobile power cord with a switchable end comes standard for all the E-Transit models. Ford estimates that the E-Transit can get 126 miles driving range.
Performance
This full-size electric van has superb traction with its rear-wheel-drive system. You'll notice how agile the E-Transit handles with its independent front MacPherson struts and rear independent coil springs with a semi-trailing arm. Both the front and back get stabilizer bars. All models come with side-wind stabilization that helps to keep the E-Transit stable during windy conditions. If you plan on using your E-Transit on the job site, choose the available Pro Power OnBoard system, which provides 1.4 KW of power to run tools or charge mobile devices.
Interior
The E-Transit has seating for two people. Both the driver and passenger get cloth seats with manual reclining bucket seats. There's plenty of room to maneuver inside the cabin of the E-Transit because the rotary shifter and e-brake are centered on the dashboard where the parking brake lever and gear shifter would normally be. Depending on the body length, the Cargo Van has up to 487 cubic feet of storage space.
All models come with Ford's Sync 4 infotainment system with a 12-inch touch screen and a Wi-Fi hot spot. You can also upgrade to the available Sync 4 with SiriusXM, HD radio, and built-in navigation to help you find charging stations and get you easily to your destination. The latter Sync 4 system also comes with FordPass connect and FordPro telemetrics.
Safety Features
It's nice to know that the Ford E-Transit can come equipped with the available Ford Co-Pilot360 driver-assist technology. Key features of this system include intelligent adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, and intelligent speed assist. All of the E-Transit variations come with Smart Acceleration Truncation that helps limit acceleration speeds for smoother handling.
